After the annual output of CBM reached 2.6 billion cubic meters in 2024, equivalent to 2.07 million tons of crude oil equivalent, and the first medium-shallow CBM field with an annual output of 2 million tons in China, the annual output of Qinshui CBM field is expected to reach a new high this year, providing strong support for the stable supply of natural gas in North China.

Compared with conventional natural gas and deep coal and rock gas, medium and shallow coalbed methane faces the industry problem of "no gas production, no efficiency", which is rooted in the weak basic research and "complex technology can not be used, simple technology is not useful", resulting in the stagnation of the domestic coalbed methane industry. In the face of technical difficulties, Huabei Oilfield adheres to the high level of science and technology, relies on major national science and technology projects, and works with domestic first-class scientific research institutes and relevant units to challenge the problems of coalbed methane industry, innovates and forms six key development technologies, such as fine evaluation of middle-shallow coal reservoirs in Qinshui Basin, and dredging drainage technology, and wins the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Gain strong industry influence and voice. After technological innovation and upgrading, the coal bed gas production capacity has increased from 50% during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period to more than 90% during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the output of a single well has more than doubled, and the proportion of 10,000 cubic meters of horizontal Wells has increased significantly.

Starting from fine and lean, Huabei Oilfield continues to promote refined management of gas fields, digital intelligent transformation, market-oriented operation, reduce management costs, achieve benefit development, and its management achievements won the first prize of national enterprise management modernization innovation achievements. With the goal of increasing the gas capacity of a single well, we will deepen the development adjustment of old areas and fine management of old Wells, and the maximum daily gas capacity will exceed 7.5 million cubic meters in 2024. Digital information technology will be integrated into the whole process of gas field production and development, and the first digital large-scale coalbed methane field in China will be built, greatly reducing the total amount of labor and labor costs. By adopting market-oriented mechanism and strengthening cooperative development, production and construction costs are effectively reduced, and the average cost of horizontal well construction per well remains the lowest in the industry.
Aim high and attack "first-class gas field". Huabei Oilfield takes coalbed gas as an important resource for energy supply security, anchors the goal of building a large gas field with first-class scale efficiency of medium and shallow coalbed gas in China, and continuously enlarging the industrial scale. Since the realization of large-scale development in 2009, by 2018, it will take 10 years to reach an annual output of 1 billion cubic meters, and another 5 years to reach 2 billion cubic meters, and achieve an annual output of 2.25 billion cubic meters by 2023. In 2024, the annual output of coalbed gas will increase by 350 million cubic meters, continuing to maintain the advantage of the largest medium-shallow coalbed gas field in China. In the next step, Huabei Oilfield will adhere to the development idea of "developing Qinshui, tackling deep problems and expanding the periphery", actively create a pattern of complementary replacement of high, medium and low coal seam gas resources, and strive to become the "technology leader and industry leader" of domestic medium and shallow coal bed gas.
